Oglala Lakota County is one of the most impoverished counties in the United States. This county is home to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. There is a need for safe houses like NAOMI on different Reservations across America. We believe the Lord is leading us to reproduce into different locations, starting with Pine Ridge.
We have 600 acres of tribal land that was passed down through Genevieve’s (Executive Director) family. In 2017 the tribal council unanimously voted to have us start a NAOMI house on this property! We have simply been waiting for the green light from God, which we finally received in July of 2021.
In Spring of 2022, we began our site preparation and purchased the mobile home that will allow us to move staff on-site. We will be on location in Summer of 2022 to begin developing the program and property to be ready for children in 2023.
